Dom + Amanda | October 20, 2012 | North Shore Country Club
This was our most ‘International’ wedding to date with over 70% of their guest travelling from outside of the United States to come and celebrate with Dom and Amanda on their very special day. To help celebrate the coming together of the two families and to celebrate the vast cultures represented at their wedding, during the cocktail hour, we had an International Photobooth with a series of flags displayed as a backdrop. One flag per each country represented by a family or friend at the wedding. Add in a few fun props and a lot of fantastic personality from guests, and we had one heck of a cocktail hour! Their wedding was a true European wedding full of fantastic hats: big hats, little hats, top cats, red hats – it was awesome!
I learned what the drink ‘Red Eye’ was, and I have a new appreciation for this fantastic drink that Amanda’s family has been manufacturing for decades! They swear that at the first signs of a cold, a sip of ‘Red Eye’ will ward off any nasty cold. Their wedding reception was held at North Shore Country Club in Shorewood. A great venue for this super fun European crowd. They had a beautiful Fall evening full with warm weather, and the perfect sunset!
Dinner was AMAZING! We had fish n’ chips and they were sooo good! That’s one of my favorite dinners we’ve had at a wedding to date! Amanda did her own calligraphy for each of the table cards – beautiful. Each table’s center piece was a beautiful flower from Petal Pushers as well as a famous scientist as both Amanda and Dom are in fact, scientists, studying and living in Boston at the moment. It’s not everyday that Alex and I get to hang out with scientists…
The finale of the evening was an incredible Japanese Lantern release. Over 100 lanterns were released into the cool October sky. It was awesome, and I know everyone had an incredible night!
We met some many wonderful people from all different corners of the world and had a great evening. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your very special day!
