October 27, 2012

Jon + Nicole had a beautiful Fall wedding the last weekend in October.  They had exquisite flowers designed by Petal Pushers (one of our favorite florists!) and a yummy cake made by Cakescapes. Their DJ was another one of our favorites, The Music Caterer. It was our last wedding for 2012, and it was the perfect way to end our 2012 wedding season. Nicole + Jon were surrounded by tons of loving family and friends. I think everyone had a wonderful day and evening!

Their ceremony was at the very beautiful Holy Family Parish in Brillion. Then, we adventured off to do some very fun, Fall photos at High Cliff. The reception was held at Liberty Hall in Kimberly.

Congratulations Nicole + Jon!

Dom + Amanda | October 20, 2012 | North Shore Country Club

This was our most ‘International’ wedding to date with over 70% of their guest travelling from outside of the United States to come and celebrate with Dom and Amanda on their very special day. To help celebrate the coming together of the two families and to celebrate the vast cultures represented at their wedding, during the cocktail hour, we had an International Photobooth with a series of flags displayed as a backdrop. One flag per each country represented by a family or friend at the wedding. Add in a few fun props and a lot of fantastic personality from guests, and we had one heck of a cocktail hour! Their wedding was a true European wedding full of fantastic hats: big hats, little hats, top cats, red hats – it was awesome!

I learned what the drink ‘Red Eye’ was, and I have a new appreciation for this fantastic drink that Amanda’s family has been manufacturing for decades! They swear that at the first signs of a cold, a sip of ‘Red Eye’ will ward off any nasty cold. Their wedding reception was held at North Shore Country Club in Shorewood. A great venue for this super fun European crowd. They had a beautiful Fall evening full with warm weather, and the perfect sunset!

Dinner was AMAZING! We had fish n’ chips and they were sooo good! That’s one of my favorite dinners we’ve had at a wedding to date! Amanda did her own calligraphy for each of the table cards – beautiful. Each table’s center piece was a beautiful flower from Petal Pushers as well as a famous scientist as both Amanda and Dom are in fact, scientists, studying and living in Boston at the moment. It’s not everyday that Alex and I get to hang out with scientists… :)

The finale of the evening was an incredible Japanese Lantern release. Over 100 lanterns were released into the cool October sky. It was awesome, and I know everyone had an incredible night!

We met some many wonderful people from all different corners of the world and had a great evening. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your very special day!

Destination Wedding | Tulum, Mexico | Trash the Dress

Sara + Ryan Timm

We had a fantastic morning-sunrise, trash the dress session with Sara + Ryan in the beautiful Caribbean waters of Tulum, Mexico. Everyone had fun, and no, her dress didn’t actually get ‘trashed’, just a bit wet. :) We rinsed it out after the fun photoshoot, and left it out to dry in the hot Mexico sun, and it was dry in no time!

Our trash the dress sessions are a great way to wear your dress one more time before you pack it up for eternity, feel beautiful, wear your hair down and totally have a blast with your new hubby!! We spend so much money on this beautiful dress, making sure it fits perfectly, so why not wear get a second wear out of it?!

In addition, we visited the Mayan Ruins in Tulum as well.

Amber + Tom Engagement Session

How did you two meet?
Tom and Amber met in freshman year of college at UW Platteville. However, it wasn’t until their senior years of college that they began dating. Through their mutual love of volleyball, they got to know each other a bit better. They were friends long before they started dating…cute, right?! :)

The Proposal:
“We went to Green Bay WI for the Bears/Packers game last Christmas. I (Amber) am a Bears Fan and he(Tom) is a Packers fan. It’s a fun rivalry for the two of us. Since the game was on Christmas day, we went to Green Bay on Christmas eve and planned to stay in a hotel over the holiday. Tom suggested that we go out for a nice dinner for Christmas down town. After getting all dolled up, we went to Chefusion for a fancy dinner.

He was fidgeting and quiet, which is not common for Tom when it is just the two of us. As we looked around the restaurant, we saw Brian Boulaga and Mason Crosby from the Packers having dinner with their families. I thought Tom would have been more excited than he was,but he seemed a bit distracted.

After dinner was over, we drove around down town Green Bay looking to find a park where we could go for a walk. I suggested that we go for a walk downtown GB since the streets were beautifully lit with Christmas lights. He pulled over faster than I could suggest he stop. Then, Tom got down on one knee and asked, “Will you make me the happiest man in the world?”
The rest is history! :-)

Alex + found out we have very similar personalities to both Amber + Tom and can’t wait for their beautiful Fall wedding next year! Congratulations you two!!
