There were a number of things special about Allyson + Kelly’s July 7th wedding. First of all, they are possibly the cutest couple ever! Second, July 7th was also Alex + my five year wedding anniversary :)

Turning back the clock, for their engagement session we wanted to pull elements from their wedding, a vintage-chic theme as well as how they first met, High School! We had a great, cool Fall day full of love and a super awesome vintage car. This theme, energy and love continued through to their beautiful wedding day at Rideway Country Club in Neenah.

Their beautiful outdoor summer wedding was full of color, love, a bunch of golf carts and a spectacular Monarch Butterfly release! I highly recommend incorporate the butterfly release – so beautiful! With elements of 1940′s old Hollywood, Kelly wore his stunning zoot suit, with a hat, and suspenders, while Allyson wore an antique, lace, trumpet gown. The country club was donned with tons of flowers, old family photos, crystals, silver, and a huge candy bar!

I almost forgot the hedgehog! Allyson shares a similar compassion for animals as we do and adore their little hedgehog. I was secretly hoping he was going to run down the aisle with the rings.

They had a beautiful, romantic day and we were so happy to be able to share our 5 year anniversary date with another fantastic couple! Congratulations you two!!

Senior Photography | West DePere High School | Anna Collins

Beautiful Anna, Alex and I tromped through our new, secret location in DePere full of cliffs, rocks and other dangerous spots that would make any mom nervous. :) The secret location is the hot spot for teenagers in the DePere area and now one of Alex and I’s new favorite senior photo spots.

After exploring this awesome little park, we were off to Anna’s Grandma’s old barn built in the mid 1800′s, if I remember correctly. Talk about the perfect spot for a senior session…lots of color, textures and a fantastic subject!

Thank you Anna for letting us explore your Grandma’s old barn and capture some radiating images of you! ENJOY!

Milwaukee Engagement Photography | John + Nicole

Our Engagement Session…
Beautiful and fantastic! Talk about passion and love! We had a great evening with John, Nicole and their pup Marley! We can’t wait to see Marley again at their wedding :) Their engagement session was spent winding around the streets of Milwaukee near their home, then headed down to the Third Ward, finally ended at the Iron Horse Hotel for a few fine drinks and a delicious flat bread pizza. YUM! Thank you Anthony Trester for showing us around the facility.

How they met…
John and Nicole met randomly on a camping trip in August 2007. The following week was John’s birthday and he invited Nicole to go out for drinks with him and his friends but there first official date was for Nicole’s birthday the week after his when he took her to Evvia in Palo Alto and even sent flowers to her office. They began hanging out on a regular basis, hiking, going to dinners and officially became a couple at a Dave Mathew’s concert in September…the rest is history!

Their dreamy proposal…
While Nicole’s parents were visiting San Francisco for the weekend, John planned a wine tasting trip to bring both families together to get to know one another better and experience the beautiful Napa Valley, so as everyone thought. On Saturday morning, April 9th, 2011, everyone gathered at John’s condo in San Mateo and hopped in a limo that was waiting to embark on a memorable journey to Sonoma.

John had planned a full agenda for the day with the first stop being Benziger Winery in Glen Ellen. John was planning on proposing to Nicole near the picnic area at lunch, but the plans just changed and John wanted to incorporate his Greek heritage into the perfect lifetime memory within this beautiful Parthenon overlooking the entire vineyard. Close to an hour later, the tour concluded with wine tasting within the Benziger caves.

It truly felt as if John and Nicole were on top of the world, breathtaking views on a gorgeous day under a Greek Parthenon atop a vineyard. After many minutes had passed, John was definitely at a loss for words and could only mutter ‘you are so beautiful, I love you’ over and over. Nicole, blushing, smiled back with the most gorgeous smile…and the rest is history!

Their Wedding…
Their wedding will be held at North Shore Country Club with the focus to re-create a rustic, elegant and romantic feel to our day. The rustic theme will be carried out with tons of attention to details: lots of candles, mason jars, wild flowers, burlap type fabrics and lace. Their colors are purples, pinks and ivory with the bridesmaids wearing a vibrant pink/purple vintage style dress. Guys will wear black tux with suspenders in place of traditional vests.

Cedarburg Engagement Photography | Lily + Matt

I really do think the city of Cedarburg, WI is one of the best kept secrets in Wisconsin especially for Cedarburg Enagement Photography. It’s such a fantastic little city tucked in along the coast of Lake Michigan. We spent the morning sipping coffee and walking along downtown Cedarburg window shopping and exploring the many cool bridges.

A little about Lily and Matt…These two define the words: adventurous and world traveler. After three months of dating, which included three different trips visiting friends in CO, WA, and OR, they moved to Madagascar, then off to India to study abroad. They currently live in Seattle, but are looking to come back to WI to visit family and friends for their wedding.

Three years ago Alex + I had the opportunity to capture Lily’s brother, Nate’s + Katrien’s wedding also in Cedarburg at their parents home tucked in the rolling hills of Wisconsin. The theme of the wedding is bright colors, inclusive of our community, organic, and full of energy and soul. They intend to do many things themselves–decorating, dessert, flower, etc. The wedding will be outside and alternative (think hay bales instead of chairs). Lily’s dad is doing the ceremony (he’s Buddhist, so is she, ostensibly, but the ceremony will be secular-ish, less formal, and outside).
